The war made its cruel adjustments in the life of every Ukrainian family, every child and Ukraine in particular. NAIU was able to quickly reformat its activities and adapt to today’s challenges.
NAPD Secretariat continues to work in Kyiv, NAPD representatives in the regions. The Secretariat maintains contacts with the temporarily occupied areas (if possible).
To date, thanks to the international support of partners, NAIU has provided financial assistance to 160 people with disabilities in the total amount of UAH 421,750.
NAPD member organizations in cooperation with government agencies help with the evacuation of people with disabilities and their families from different regions of Ukraine.
We continue to work with various international organizations of people with disabilities to accommodate people with disabilities and provide humanitarian assistance.
On the basis of NAPD member organizations, transit centers have been established for people with disabilities, families with children with disabilities, who are taken out of occupied places and dangerous areas. All places are adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
We advise people with disabilities and their families on evacuation, border crossing, and humanitarian assistance.
We monitor and provide information on the situation with people with disabilities during the war to UN agencies and international institutions that defend the rights of people with disabilities.
We record Russian war crimes against citizens with disabilities and pass information to the European Disability Forum, the International Alliance of Persons with Disabilities and the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
